Black History Month

Last month our class researched famous black Americans. Every 5th grader at Speas learned about a different person. Students researched musicians, inventors, politicians, writers, civil rights leaders and more. The culmination of our research was a presentation in the media center. Each student shared what they learned during the course of their investigation.

What did you learn from our investigations? What did you enjoy most about the project?

  4. I learned that throughout history a bunch of people of ALL races could do things really good, but others didn't believe that. If I lived back then I would've believed anyone can do anything no matter what race. The most fun part was probally the investigation, because me and the girls all got to draw and color, which is one of our fav things to do. My least favorite was reading to the WHOLE 5th grade in the library. It was scary. Plus it took SOO long and also because it went over our recess time....^^
